CA State Parks Advocacy in Sacramento
Monday, March 8: Park Advocacy Day. Register now to advocate for your state parks in Sacramento. With service reductions and partial closures already in effect at California's state parks and an additional $22.2 million budget cut possible in the next state park budget, we know that 2010 will be another difficult year for state parks. Albany Waterfront Visioning Plan Revealed
Monday, April 5, 8pm: Fern Tiger Associates to make presentation on Albany Waterfront Visioning Project. Golden Gate Fields Racetrack in Albany sits at the center of the Eastshore State Park. The vision for the waterfront in Albany should be in harmony with the rest of the shoreline park. Please attend and let the City know how important parks and open space are for this REGIONAL shoreline. Albany Council Chambers, City Hall, 1000 San Pablo Avenue.
Albany Shoreline Clean-up - Earth Day
Saturday, April 24, 9am-12 noon: Earth Day Shoreline Clean-up. CESP and the Watershed Project need volunteers to help sign folks in, as well as help with the clean-up. Families welcome; Children must be accompanied by an adult. Wear sturdy shoes, a hat and sunscreen, and bring your own non-disposable water bottle and gloves if you have them.

Walks, Hikes and Restoration
Saturday, March 6, 10:00-2:00pm: Bay Trail Weed Removal and Plant Restoration. Meet on Richmond Bay Trail by bridge west of end of Rydin Road off Central Avenue near Pt. Isabel Park to remove fennel, mustard, radish, French broom, pampas grass, etc. and try some new techniques to suppress the re-growth of the fennel.
